The
Hidalgo County 4-H Foundation holds one fundraising event each year. The Foundation
board works to make this a fun and productive evening bringing in enough money
to support their goal of providing scholarships for each eligible graduating senior
4-Her.

an effort to keep a long standing successful Hidalgo County 4-H Tradition alive,
the Carlos X. Guerra family is again donating a two day Guided Trophy Whitetail
Buck Hunt for one on the Guerra Brothers El Tule Ranch for the 2007 season. The
lucky winner in this raffle can pick their hunting dates, harvest one mature buck,
one doe, two javelinas plus enjoy the camp. |
 PICK
OF THE PEN - $100 EACH
An exciting event of the entertaining evening includes
a "Pick of the Pen." Buyers buy a ranch animal (cows, pig, goats, horses, etc.)
from the barnyard, place their bidder number on its backside and throw it back
into the pen. Prior to the Live Auction the winning "Pick of the Pen" is pulled
from the barnyard and the lucky bidder is given choice of any live auction item.
 PLAYING
CARDS - $20 EACH
Guests can buy a chance at winning more items by selecting
a playing card from a deck of cards. Two decks are opened (one for the ladies
and the other for the guys) and sold for $20.00 a card. Last year's Lucky Lady
received a $200 Shopping Spree at Sylvia's and a "Coach" Signature Gallery Tote.
A Remington 870 Express 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun went to our gentleman winner.
FEED
BUCKETS - $5 PER CHANCE
This year our guests will be given the opportunity
to buy tickets that they can place into designated buckets. Each bucket represented
an assortment wonderful themed group of items.  LIVE
AUCTION
The highlight of each Hoedown is the Live Auction. Our 4-H Ambassadors
present an extensive line of items that bring fun and excitement to our live auction.
DANCE
Our evening concludes with a country & western dance featuring Scott Randolph
and the White Lightning Band. 2007
